PADI Assistant Instructor
(minimum 4 -10 days)
This course was developed to give PADI Divemasters additional
qualifications as training assistants and dive instructors.
PADI’s new IDC was split into two parts in 2001:
After completing the Assistant Instructor Course (AI), you have
already mastered the first four days of the whole IDC and are
now entitled to participate at the following OWSI (Open Water
Scuba Instructor) program.
Its priority is to expand your skills for teaching. With self
study, normal lessons and practical application you will learn
how to give presentations and how to conduct the following PADI
courses and programs: PADI Skin Diver, PADI Specialty Courses: Peak Performance Buoyancy & Project AWARE”, Discover Scuba,
Discover Local Diving, and Discover Snorkelling, as well as the
teaching of the Open Water Diver Course in the classroom, pool
and open water.
You will also get familiar with PADI standards and procedures,
the structure of the diving industry and you will get an
introduction in basic marketing ideas, the selling philosophy
and questions about risk management.
