This year saw another successful beach clean up, a joint venture with Buceo Costa Nerja and the local Town Hall, and well timed after the devastating storms which hit the Nerja area only several weeks before. Over 130 participants helped to clean the local beach and adjoining seabed. More rubbish was removed this year, but this was attributed to the storms which washed clean many of the rivers into the sea. The divers had a particularly challenging task as the visibility on the day was only a few metres. At the end of the clean up all of the participants enjoyed free food and drink kindly provided by the local restaurants on Burriana beach.
